Saturday 2 July 2011 – In the morning, headliners from the festival conducted ukulele workshops. From midday onwards, ukulele clubs from around the country and local schools performed non-stop until it was time to hold the Guinness World Record attempt ‘Largest Ukulele Ensemble’. This year, we came very close; we were 41 ukulele players short. Nevertheless, the 811 players and at least an equal amount of spectators had a blast playing this years tune, ‘Iko Iko’. The attempt was followed by performances by Hohner / Lanikai endorsees The Derringers with Matt Dahlberg, and headliner of the evening, Lorenzo ‘Ukulollo’ Vignando from Italy.
