Tuesday 23/8/16
Tuesday morning, Far North Ukes Group invites ukers who have arrived early for the Festival to join them in a morning of Golden Oldies at Trinity Beach Sports Club from 10- 12. Lyrics and chords provided.

Wednesday and Thursday 24+25/8/16
KoAloha Ukulele Build – the KoAloha Crew are returning to Cairns ready to help you build your own KoAloha ukulele


Wednesday 24/8/16
Holloways Beach Ukulele Group – come along to the second longest running ukulele jam in Cairns at Strait on the Beach cafe on the waterfront of Holloways Beach

Thursday 25/8/16
Maton Songwriters on the Waterfront – a session with original ukulele songwriters with the beautiful Trinity Inlet as backdrop
Kala Opening Night – meet and greet with festival participants and artists, various performances to get into the groove of the festival
Uke up late – for those who just cannot get enough, join us in our cosy new late night Ohana Club venue for an open mic session

Friday 26/8/16
Ukulele Mystery Tour – we’ll be taking you to a new destination this year and it’s going to be a whole lotta fun!
Bad Boys of Uke Jam Session – afternoon footpath session at the Cape York Hotel hosted by the Bad Boys and Girls of Uke
Ukulele world music dinner and show – a new festival component featuring ukulele world music surprises never shown in Australia
Uke up late – for those who just cannot get enough, join us in our cosy new late night Ohana Club venue for concerts and an open mic session

Saturday 27/8/16
Ukulele workshops – festival headliners will conduct workshops for all levels
Community Concert Day – a day full or free ukulele entertainment by ukulele groups from around the country
Ukulele Market Day – browse and try a huge range of ukuleles
Grand Parade – it’s the day of Cairns’ annual Parade, which attracts over 20,000 people to town
Grand Parade Concert – a free concert on the big stage with The Montgomery Brothers and friends held right after the Grand Parade
Uke up late – kick on with more ukulele entertainment and an open mic session at Ohana Club

Sunday 28/8/16
Ukulele workshops – festival headliners will conduct workshops for all levels
Bad Boys of Uke Jam Session – brunch / lunch ukulele footpath session at the Cape York Hotel hosted by the Bad Boys and Girls of Uke
Luna Australian Ukulele Showcase – on stage in the back bar of the Cape York Hotel, featuring artists from around the country
Ports North Finale concert – a feature concert at with headliner Taimane Gardner
Cairns Festival Concert – Cairns Regional Council is hosting a free concert on the Esplanade (Western Events Lawn) in the early evening which you won’t wanna miss!
Uke up late – join us and festival artists for a few drinks and more music at Ohana Club

Monday 29/8/16
KoAloha Kitchen – for those who are still in town and wish to join us for a special feast prepared by Alan from KoAloha

Venues: all venues are within the CBD, so generally within walking distance (except from Holloways Beach)

As if this is not enough Cairns Regional Council’s annual Cairns Festival is also on until September 4th, featuring a plethora of artistic and musical events so lots of reasons to make a cultural holiday of it!

All our gigs are suitable for all ages, though some venues may require adult supervision and/or U18s to be off the premises by 10pm.
