Around 40 local and interstate artists have donated their time to paint, sculpt and transform ukuleles into a work of art. Now in the fourth year, the Uke Art Exhibition has become a must- see event on the festival calendar with designs ranging from fun, interesting, ‘out there’ to simply beautiful.
The exhibition also raises funds for a local charity through a silent auction. All ukes are up for auction to the highest bidder and profits this year will go Rosie’s Food Van, which helps feed and support homeless people in Cairns.
The Exhibition opens tonight at the Red Chair Gallery, 70 Abbott Street at 6pm.
