Today’s World Record Attempt

Standard

It was a huge day at Fogarty Park, with market stalls, tiki carving, kids entertainment, learn to play workshops, performances by ukulele clubs around the country, local schools and more! Thousands attended the festival activities, which culminated in the world record attempt ‘largest ukulele ensemble’.

We were so close! The official count for today’s world record attempt is 1395 people playing the ukulele here in Cairns! We’ll have to do it again next year!

It’s a marked increase from last year’s 811 players and we would like to thank everyone for coming down and supporting this event and being part of this amazing experience!

Special thanks to our sponsors and above all, the amazing festival volunteers who worked so hard to make this happen.

We’re now getting ready for the Cairns Ukulele Festival Finale! Tomorrow’s concerts at the Tanks Arts Centre are not to be missed!

  1. It was a lot of fun… but now it’s hard to get “down-down-up-up-down-up-down-down-up” out of my head 🙂
