A huge crowd gathered tonight in the Hilton Ballroom, to enjoy the aNueNue Ukulele Showcase. Artists from around the country performed diverse sets, captivating the audience. A special surprise performance by Renee Searles and Marcus Patterson (pictured left), who will be opening the Tanks Arts Centre concerts on Sunday was one of the many highlights! Make sure you get to the Tanks Arts Centre early on Sunday morning to start the day with a ukulele church service; a rockin’ trainride bound to ukulele heaven with songstress Renee and compadre Marcus Patterson. Songs of praise and glory, gospel, country, folk, blues and a sing along or two. It’ll be a great start to an amazing day of performances of ukulele royalty from around the globe.
But before the Tanks concerts on Sunday we have, of course, the Lanikai Ukulele Day with free concerts from midday, kids entertainment, workshops, markets, and more at Fogarty Park! At 4.30 we will assemble for the World Record Attempt. There will be loads of entertainment till late, but we will all be at the Union Jack at 7.30pm for a huge party night with the Craig Chee Band and Bustamento! It’s going to be a big day!
