Get ready for the Official Opening Night!

Uke lovers from around the country are descending on Cairns in droves, some have already built KoAloha ukuleles, carved tikis, painted ukuleles or cruised the Low Isles today.

Tonight is the official opening night of the festival at the 6 Degrees bar at the Cairns Hilton, where beginners will have a chance to learn to play ukulele with Mike Jackson (7pm). Play the world record song with Nicky Bomba at around 8pm and  enjoy live music by AJ Leonard with Jenny Rowlands and Matt Dahlberg and friends after that.

So come on down, meet and greet the festival artists, and enjoy the waterfront location, catch up with other ukulele players from around the country and get ready for the ride that is the Cairns Ukulele Festival!

The festival runs for several days and comprises a range of events, such as tours of the region and concerts by ukulele royalty from around the globe.
